About the role:

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and enthusiastic WHS & Training Coordinator to join the team at our busy milk manufacturing company in Labrador.

The WHS & Training Coordinator is responsible for managing and delivering the site training plan and promoting and facilitating the WHS activities on site.

This role reports to the Site Manager and works closely with our safety team and site leadership team to deliver outstanding safety and training outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Administer site WHS systems including risk management procedures, hazard and incident reporting and injury management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and Norco's health, safety and environment systems, policies and procedures.
  • Mentor the Site Management team, HSRs and site personnel in safety matters.
  • Develop the annual site training plan.
  • Deliver relevant and interesting training sessions in consultation with the site leadership, HR, WHS & Quality teams.
  • Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and report on WHS performance and training compliance status.
  • Induct new staff and contractors to the site.
  • Complete and maintain all training records.
  • Facilitate Return to Work plans and early intervention programs with injured employees on site.
  • Participate in the review of capital projects, changes in procedures and activities.
  • Continuously explore ways of improving through process improvement and redevelopment.

 Skills and experience required to succeed in this role:

  • Cert IV Workplace Training & Assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting training.
  • Understanding of Workplace Safety legislation in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Understanding of injury prevention and early intervention programs.
  • Highly motivated, with good analytical, problem solving and coaching skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
