Network & Security Infrastructure Engineer - 12 Month FTC

JS Careers has been engaged to find an experienced Network & Security Infrastructure Engineer to join the Infrastructure team at a leading global law firm on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in assessing, documenting, and optimising enterprise network infrastructure supporting 8 sites and 750+ users. You'll work across a broad technology stack, ensuring performance, resilience, and security in a highly professional environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Audit and document existing network infrastructure (topology, configs, security controls)
  • Identify bottlenecks and security gaps, then implement optimisation strategies
  • Enhance monitoring and alerting for improved visibility and incident response
  • Support secure remote access, segmentation, and zero-trust initiatives
  • Assist with Azure networking and cloud transition projects
  • Deliver detailed network documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer to the IT team

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years' experience in enterprise network engineering & security
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies
  • Hands-on with Cisco, Palo Alto, Silver Peak, Meraki, Azure networking, SolarWinds
  • Experience documenting complex network environments
  • Relevant certifications (CCNP Security, Palo Alto PCNSA, Azure Network Engineer Associate, etc.) highly regarded
  • Background in financial services or professional services is desirable
