What you will be doing in this role

Reporting to the Education Manager you'll join our dedicated San Education team, taking the lead in shaping and driving innovative critical care education programs across the organisation.

You'll provide expert guidance on evidence-based education, ensuring all learning initiatives align with best practice standards, accreditation requirements, and the organisation's strategic goals. You'll play a key role in elevating clinical excellence through impactful education.

This role will design and deliver high-fidelity simulation experiences that mirror real clinical scenarios, enhancing the skills and confidence of our clinicians to achieve and maintain competence in critical care, advanced life support (ALS), and related resuscitation training. Partnering with nursing, medical, allied health, and quality teams to deliver exceptional patient care you will create education programs that are safe, coordinated, and aligned to NSQHS Standard 8.

Using data, feedback, and clinical insights you'll evaluate and evolve educational strategies, ensuring our workforce remains skilled, responsive, and future-ready. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact, empower clinicians, and help shape the future of critical care education.

Who we're looking for

To succeed in this role, you'll bring extensive hands-on experience in critical care nursing, along with a proven track record in a nurse educator or senior clinical education position. This opportunity is well suited to a current Clinical Nurse Educator working in critical care who's ready to take the next step and make a lasting impact across the entire organisation.

You'll need to have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (essential)
  • ALS Instructor certification with the Australian Resuscitation Council or willingness to obtain (essential)
  • Masters in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent (desirable)
  • Graduate Certificate in Education or Simulation (desirable)
  • Proven experience in leading or contributing to simulation training, enhancing clinical competency
  • Expert knowledge of critical care principles and managing clinical deterioration
  • Strong track record in designing and delivering innovative simulation-based education
  • In-depth expertise in adult learning principles, clinical supervision, and developing effective learning programs
  • Comprehensive understanding of NSQHS Standards, particularly Standard 8, and clinical governance frameworks.
