About us

Skyline Farm is set on 755 acres of lush farmland in Rosevale in the Scenic Rim.

We are a working cattle farm and short stay accommodation provider, which allows guests to host DIY functions, such as weddings and birthday parties.

We have approx. 125 cows (breeders with calves), 3 bulls, 2 alpacas, 2 camels and a few chickens and sheep. The cattle are Ultra Black, Brangus and Speckle Park.

We have two short stay accommodation properties with a third house being built in 2026.

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on all-rounder to work on site, ensuring to maintain the farm and our short stay properties in top condition.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and will thrive on tackling the varied demands of farm life with adaptability and skill.

We are seeking a committed medium to long term applicant.

General tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparing short stay accommodation properties for check in (e.g. hose down/gurney concrete & bitumen areas/paths; wash pool glass, windows and exterior walls as needed; general pool maintenance; chop firewood and get firepits ready; wiping down outdoor furniture; put out guest gifts and welcome letter; open house up and put on lights/fans/aircon for guest arrival)
  • Tidying up short stay accommodation properties after guest check out (e.g. check if anything is broken/missing; clean BBQ if needed; empty rubbish bins; clean fire pits / yard; put any outdoor furniture back in original location) – Note that internal cleaning, washing, linen change etc. is done by a cleaner.
  • Assisting guests during their stay (during work hours only), if necessary
  • Maintaining herb and vegetable gardens
  • Undertaking paddock work (e.g. maintaining fences/gates and waterlines/pumps/bore/irrigation; cleaning and checking troughs; tractor operation and mulching paddocks; tree clearing; weed and pest control)
  • Livestock activities (e.g. periodic branding, tagging, injections, etc. of cattle; paddock rotations; checking water and feeding chickens, alpacas and sheep, and periodic sheering and worming of alpacas and sheep)
  • Maintaining water tanks and gas bottles at useable levels
  • Cleaning and maintaining machinery and tools
  • Getting petrol / diesel and filling up vehicle, ATV, plant and equipment, as needed
  • Keeping sheds organised and clean
  • Reporting any problems or potential problems to Skyline's owner or administrative team.

Licences, experience and requirements
  • Previous experience in farming / agriculture
  • Experience with tractors, ATVs and farming equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Honest and trustworthy of character
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physical stamina, fitness to work, and the ability to perform manual labour
  • A valid drivers' licence and car to get to the Farm. Skyline Farm vehicle and buggy's available to use during work day.
