About the Company

Our client is a Botany based Daycare and boarding facility which has Sydney's largest outdoor and indoor play areas, caring for a great mix of dogs approximately 50-60 per day. They are an enrichment-based daycare and hotel, specialising in nurturing, engagement and specialist care whilst upholding the highest safety standards.

About the role

They currently have a casual position available. Weekend availability is a must along with flexibility during the week.

The role of Animal Attendant needs someone who can:

• Supervise and actively engage with the dogs in their care

• Use only positive, gentle, reward-based training methods

• Monitor, evaluate situations, problem solve and keep themselves and the dogs in their care safe

• Provide enrichment activities and video dog participation for socials

• General housekeeping and cleaning of dog kennels

• Liaise with Dog owners upon drop off and kick up times

• Basic dog grooming (bathing and brushing)

• Administering medication as required (oral only)

• Provide ongoing daily management of boarding dogs

A little bit about you

Loving dogs is not enough for this role unfortunately You will need a related tertiary certificate of completion - e.g. animal studies/vet nursing or similar and have previous experience handling dogs whether from working for another dog grooming/walking company, daycare or boarding service is a must. Dog grooming experience is highly advantageous

For the right person, this role has the potential to progress into a managerial role.

This role is based in Botany and is not easily accessible by public transport, therefore someone with their own car is a must
