About the Opportunity

We are seeking Underground Coal Mine Operators for full-time permanent positions in the Bowen Basin, QLD, at Ironbark No.1 Coal Mine — less than a 2-hour commute southwest of Mackay, QLD.

This position offers a 7/7 rotating roster, promoting work-life balance while providing consistent operational support. It also provides the flexibility to work FIFO/DIDO with salary packaging options, enhancing accessibility for our diverse workforce.

This role will commence with a 6-month probation period, after which permanent employment will be confirmed, subject to performance.

Reporting directly to the site manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


• Delivering services including VCD installation and maintenance


• Participating in secondary support and strata consolidation


• Contributing to outbye services and general mine services


• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and practices


• Supporting team efforts to maintain operational excellence

About You

To be successful, you'll need relevant tickets such as drifty, loader, airtrack, and QDS drill rig, along with a valid "C" Class Queensland driver's licence. A minimum of 1 year's experience in the Underground Coal Mining Industry is essential. Additionally, a current coal board medical (or the ability to obtain one) and a Standard 11 certification are required.
