Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Little Amigos Full time $65,000 - $85,000 per year

We currently have multiple positions available and Early Childhood Teachers to join our team. If you are committed to inspiring young learners, working in a supportive environment, and contributing to excellence in early childhood education, we would love to hear from you.

About Us

At Little Amigos, we believe that childhood is a time of wonder, discovery, and boundless possibilities. We offer a warm, safe, and nurturing child-centred environment where each child is valued, respected, and empowered to explore at their own pace. Our dedicated team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality, play-based learning grounded in best practice and the Early Years Learning Framework. By partnering closely with families and celebrating diversity, we build a vibrant, inclusive community where children thrive, friendships blossom, and a lifelong love for learning takes root—one little amigo at a time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement learning programs in both indoor and outdoor settings, using diverse materials, resources, and equipment that foster children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development.
  • Facilitate a wide range of play-based and structured experiences that promote fine and gross motor skills, social interaction, problem-solving, resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
  • Support children's communication and language development through storytelling, songs, rhymes, dramatic play, group discussions, and individual conversations in alignment with the EYLF outcomes.
  • Observe, document, and assess children's learning and wellbeing, maintaining developmental records and using these observations to inform curriculum planning and intentional teaching practices.
  • Identify and respond to individual learning needs, recognising potential developmental delays, disabilities, emotional concerns, or health issues, and working in partnership with families and specialists where appropriate.
  • Ensure children's health, safety, and wellbeing by monitoring nutrition, hygiene, rest, and welfare needs while complying with all workplace health and safety, child protection, and NQS standards.
  • Engage with families and caregivers, providing regular feedback on children's progress, conducting parent meetings and interviews, and building collaborative relationships that respect cultural diversity and family values.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and compliance activities, contributing to continuous improvement and reflective practice in line with NQS requirements.
  • Foster inclusive practices that respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, cultural diversity, and the principles of equity and inclusion embedded in the EYLF.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes by assisting with documentation for regulatory compliance, assessment and rating visits, and centre policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide student teachers or less experienced educators, supporting professional growth and modelling best practice in early childhood education.
  • Engage with community and family support programs to strengthen children's learning outcomes and wellbeing through broader community connections.

Skills and Qualification required

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as an educator.
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis, and asthma management certification.

  • Creativity, flexibility and a passion for fostering children's learning development.
  • Excellent communication, and team work skills.
