  • Temporary full-time opportunity to 30 June 2027
  • Located in Deniliquin, Albury, Wagga Wagga or other southern regional location by negotiation, hybrid working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 + super

The Water Group leads the NSW Government in providing confidence to communities and stakeholders with the transparent stewardship of water resources, provision of services and reforms that support sustainable and healthy environments, economies and societies across NSW.

About You

The Infrastructure Projects team is seeking to appoint Safety Manager Project Delivery to play a key role in the safe delivery of infrastructure projects to meet the NSW Government's commitments including Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM) Acceleration and Reconnecting River Country Early Works.

The Safety Manager Project Delivery manages a team of Project Safety Partners ensuring the provision of functional Health and Safety Management across all project and business division activities. The role also works across teams to manage the implementation of all safety policies, protocols and procedures, ensuring correct and up-to-date administrative records to maintain an effective risk management process. This includes facilitating training in safety policies and requirements across all project activities on behalf of the NSW State Government in accordance with the relevant Work Health and Safety Legislation and associated safety laws applicable to the Water Group including Dam Safety Act, National Heavy Vehicle National Law, and relevant Codes of Practice.

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate experience in a managing safety across infrastructure construction or similar industry.

Key Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience of safety management.
  • Demonstrated experience in contractor management and experience with stakeholders in an infrastructure construction setting.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and Australian standards.
  • Sound understanding of safety assurance processes and practices in a diverse regulatory framework.
  • Experience working with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Highly developed influencing and negotiating skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.
