Beaumont People are thrilled to partner with Independent Community Living Australia (ICLA) who are professionals in delivering mental health recovery services and personalised support to individuals with psychosocial, intellectual and other disabilities as well as those seeking support at difficult times in their life.

About the Role:

This is an exciting, brand-new service with ICLA, offering you the chance to shape the role and grow a new service within the team. You'll have the opportunity to build the offering from the ground up, contribute to the organisation's growth, and advance your career along the way.

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you'll conduct assessments, develop tailored support plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions for participants with complex needs. You'll manage referrals, collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team, and maintain NDIS-compliant documentation. This diverse role combines clinical expertise with service development, allowing you to create meaningful, positive outcomes while supporting our trauma-informed, person-centered culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Generate referrals through service promotion and stakeholder engagement.
  • Referrals: Support the promotion and triaging of enquiries and referrals to ICLA.
  • Assessment: Conduct a range of therapeutic, behavioural and functional assessments to support the development and implementation of positive behaviour support plans for NDIS participants.
  • Therapeutic Support: Provide therapeutic support services delivering both behaviour support and therapeutic interventions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with participants, families, support networks, and other team members in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain accurate and timely records and documentation in line with ICLA policies and NDIS compliance.
  • Reporting: Prepare compliant, detailed, persuasive reports demonstrating trauma-informed approaches and understanding of mental health and psychosocial disability.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in occupational therapy, psychology, social work, or similar.
  • Experience implementing effective therapeutic interventions, incl. trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
  • Experience working with individuals living with psychosocial disability across SIL and community settings.
  • Proven track record of achieving key performance indicators (KPIs), including timely and accurate completion of all documentation.
  • Proven track record in networking with local service providers and government agencies.
  • Strong computer literacy across MS Office suite, and CRM programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders from different backgrounds
  • Effective communicator and collaborator in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, proficient in interpreting data and identifying patterns
  • Demonstrates initiative, independence, and strong time management
  • Critical thinker with a pragmatic solution-focus
