About The Role
Step into a rewarding role as a Nursing Assistant where you will bring excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors.
You will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. Full training is provided so, along with the above, all you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological product.
A day in the centre could see you:
- Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
- Create a donor experience they'll love and want to come back Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
- Set up machines and collections equipment
- Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
- Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation
- Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets
No prior experience in blood collection is needed, our paid and flexible self-paced training program has a balance between on-the-job practice, and online class schedules to ensure that you are well supported.
Besides having a real passion to deliver an exceptional donor experience, you'll need to be able to:
- Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
- Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
- Support and foster a fantastic team culture
- Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
- Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
Please note that this position requires flexibility to work over the Christmas and New Year period.
