Technical Services Engineer - Architectural

The Role:

We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Services Engineer (Architectural) to join our team. 

You will provide technical support to the Commercial team and customers, specialising in the design, detailing and application of the product range, including but not limited to Kingspan Insulated Panels, KingZip standing seam roof, and Kingspan façade product ranges.   

You must have your own car - our site is not accessible via public transport.

You must have full legal right to work in Australia. Business Sponsorship is not available.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your main responsibilities will be (but are not limited to):

• Provide technical support query service for the product range to customers (defined as internal departments, architects, builders, roof/cladding contractors and others as required) in line with tasks and targets laid down for the Technical Department.
• Interpret customer requirements in relation to company product range, and assist with design and detailing support, product selection and best practice product application advice, model specifications, maintenance, sustainability and building physics, in favour of Kingspan products.
• Support the use of Kingspan products in the marketplace through the development of site or project specific detailing through AutoCAD, general technical support, and product warranty support with the goal of supporting the commercial team to win specifications and grow sales.
• Provide assistance for the Marketing Team to support the preparation of best practice industry literature for Specifiers, Contractors and Building Owners, including product data sheets, guides, brochures and training presentations.
• Interact with and provide input to the Technical Department business function, including detailing, compliance and product application support for new products or new uses for existing products and related ancillary components to complement the product range, and to sustain the existing product range.
• Assist the Technical Department by participating in site and customer visits, inspection of installed systems, and advice to site personnel as required.
• Liaise with similar positions in other Kingspan Insulated Panel businesses internationally to ensure design knowledge base remains current.
• Work with the Facades and KingZip support teams regionally.
• Assist in training and personal development of the sales team on product application and detailing issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs and any training and personal development necessary to the position.

About You:

· 3-4+ years' experience in a similar role preferably within the same industry.

· Previous building industry experience in construction drafting.

· Building design experience.

· Formal Architectural, Building Design or Engineering qualifications.

· AUTOCAD experience.

· Strong communication skills to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.

· Good written and reporting skills.

· Ability to interact with all other business functions especially Sales and Commercial.

· Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Problem solving ability.

· Strong data interpretation skills.

· Ability to work to deadlines.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.

· Strong time management, ability to prioritise and multitask.

· Stress tolerance, able to work well under pressure.

· Organised, efficient and able to self-prioritise workload.
