The role

We are seeking a Senior Analyst Sector Reporting to act as the internal expert for the Treasury Prime system, delivering high-quality advice and analysis that supports our agency portfolio decision making. This role offers a rare opportunity to transform your financial reporting capability and drive operational efficiency through innovation and automation.

In this role, you will be preparing sector financial reports for Treasury and serving as a key contributor to system upgrade initiatives and the development of robust reporting processes. It also involves maintaining strong relationships across agencies, with internal finance teams, and with Treasury stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and data integrity.

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Sound knowledge of government finance frameworks to ensure adherence to Treasury policies and accounting standards
  • Solid time management and organisational skills to handle competing priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Resilience and flexibility in responding to changing demands, with the confidence to raise and work through challenging issues
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering collaboration and alignment across multiple teams and agencies
  • Analytical and strategic thinking to interpret financial data, assess risks, and provide informed recommendations
  • Demonstrated skills in building effective relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including Treasury and government agencies

What is an essential requirement:

  • Member of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand with extensive post qualification experience.
