Do you have what it takes to become a Group Business Performance Manager

The Group Business Performance Manager is responsible for leading the business performance team, developing and delivering performance dashboards and reporting frameworks, and acting as a strategic business partner to the executive team. This role involves analysing key commercial drivers, developing commercial policies, and championing the use of data and analytics tools to enhance performance reporting and decision-making. The manager will also maintain a proactive awareness of emerging AI tools and technologies relevant to business performance.

To be successful at Smartgroup you will have:

  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Excel, along with working knowledge of Python or R, and experience with Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience in developing commercial policies and frameworks.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage and challenge senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing analytical teams, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Background in financial and operational modelling, performance reporting, and commercial analysis, with a focus on profitability, cost-to-serve, and pricing strategy.
  • Experience working across enterprise-wide data, including finance, sales, operations, and product teams.
