About the Role

As a Business Analyst, within our Industrial Relations Branch, you will support workforce analytics by delivering accurate reports and forecasts on pay and conditions to assist with decisions on the NSW Public Sector Awards and bargaining. You will interpret complex workforce data, identify trends and provide actionable insights for strategic planning and stakeholder understanding. This role contributes to improving the reporting process and data quality to support continuous improvement, organisational change and decision making.

You will be joining the Bargaining and Legal Strategy team within the Industrial Relations Branch in the People and Workforce Group. This role is currently being offered on a temporary basis until 30 June 2027, with the potential to extend or be converted to ongoing.

We're Looking For: 

  • Data Analytics and Systems Experience: Knowledge and experience in analysing and preparing complex workforce data and reporting to deliver accurate and timely insights. You will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI and data analytic tools.
  • Think and Solve Problems: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify trends, anticipate issues, and develop practical solutions that enhance organisational effectiveness.
  • Communicate Effectively: Ability to clearly explain complex data and concepts to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Project Management: Capability to manage reporting projects and deliver high-quality outputs within tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, HR, Finance, or Commerce.
