Your RoleWe are seeking a seasoned Telco IP Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performance IP network solutions tailored for telecommunications environments. This strategic role demands deep expertise in telco-grade security architecture, hybrid cloud integration, and mobile core network design.
You will play a key role in:
- Architecture Development: Design modular and extensible IP network architectures using L3 DC fabric spine-leaf topology and DCI gateway models to support telco-specific workload domains (e.g., OSS/BSS, control/user planes).
- Extensive and detailed knowledge of Telco IP mobile core network and routing protocols.
- Defining future state architecture for mobile IP core network, creating High level design (HLD) and Detailed design documentation.
- Security Design & Risk Assessment: Conduct detailed security risk assessments for mobile core and data centre environments, addressing threats such as lateral movement, segmentation failure, and compliance gaps.
- Firewall & Access Control: Architect perimeter and internal firewall solutions using platforms like Fortinet, and implement micro-segmentation strategies using VRFs, VLANs, and EVPN-VXLAN overlays.
- Hybrid Cloud Integration: Design secure zoning and high-availability integrations across hybrid cloud platforms, ensuring alignment with workload types and compliance standards.
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain comprehensive documentation for IP and firewall designs, including deviation handling procedures and approval workflows in line with Infosec policies.
- Brining in best of industry trends & knowledge and work with multiple OEMs to propose best practice solutions to clients.
- Technical leadership: Represent Capgemini to the client and provide technical leadership to Network Architecture team on the client engagement
- 15+ years of experience in Telco IP network architecture and security.
- Proven expertise in mobile core, transport architecture, and zero-trust security models.
- Expertise in IP and routing & switching protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, Fortinet firewalls, and SIEM integration strategies.
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud security, workload isolation, and segmentation techniques.
- Expertise in reviewing current network High level design documents and proposing future state architecture for IP core network.
- Experience in running proof of concept (POC) and design validations in network test labs.
- Technical and people leadership in delivering architecture projects against agreed timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certifications such as CCIE, CCNP Security, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
