About the role:

• 10+ years' experience professional engineer in the telecommunications industry. Comprehensive knowledge of public switching telephone networks and telecom networking (Carrier Experiences).
• Skilled strategist who transforms strategic plans into workable solutions and proven track record of applying appropriate mix of technologies that meet business needs while minimizing risks/costs.
• Motivated achiever with an ability to build effective collaboration between multi-teams, driving change initiatives and recommend enhancements to network or business through creating partnerships and buy-in.
• Exceptional problem-solver with keen ability to resolve technology/business issues, provide business competitive enhancements, analyse/define improvement, and implement engineering solutions.
• Experience in carrier design requirements, technology direction, market trend and regulatory obligation. Hand-on experienced in dealing with technical requirements for fixed network, mobile network, and data network.
• Experience and skills in area of product design, products rolling out for fixed and mobile including the implementation of Fixed to Mobile Convergence (FMC).
• Self-developing, self-training in multiple discipline and constant looking for self-improvement in all aspects of both technology and business skills.

Experience in New Technology Introduction.

• Technical expert in 5G (NSA and SA), IMS, CNF, NFVi, Voice over NBN, Voice over LTE, Voice over Wifi, Fixed Telephony TDM, Mobile 3G, Mobile LTE, SMS, IP PBX, SBC, VMware, and today's multimedia technologies such as WebRTC or RCS.

Proficient level working knowledge of architecture, design, implementation, and specifications in the following areas:

• 5G, 4G Mobile Network Architect and Design

• VoLTE/VoWifi/VoNR/IMS Network Architect and Design

• RAN technologies and RAN 3GPP Specifications.

• Orchestration and CI/CD

• Cloud Architect, Cloud and orchestration technologies including virtualization, containerization, micro-services, NFV, Kubernetes, Docker Swan Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS). etc.

• FMC - Fixed and Mobile Network Design
• LAN/WAN/VPN network Design
• SMS/MMS Systems
• SCP/STP/SSP Intelligent Network
• NBN Residential Service and Feature
• RCS Multimedia and Video Conferencing
• CCS7 and SIP protocols
• Strategic Thinking, Planning and Cross-Functional Team Leadership
• Risk and Remediation Strategies
• Project Planning and Execution
• Negotiation, Persuasion, and Communication
• Risks and Benefits Assessments
• Products Development and Continuous Improvement Process
• Regulatory Requirements, Privacy and Fair Competitive Behaviours
• RFI/RFT Process
• Security standards and risks management
• Familiar with Optus product development cycle, tendering process, testing cycle, logistic, provisioning systems and vendor's relationship.
• Tender Specifications, Traffic Engineering
• Security Best Practices Design
