We are currently seeking a Painter at The Reef Hotel Casino, the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns.

A rare and exciting opportunity for a qualified Painter to join our Engineering team in a multi-skilled position and assist in the overall maintenance of our 5-star Complex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out painting, refinishing, and routine maintenance of surfaces throughout the Complex as directed.
  • Maintain surface finishes of all stained furnishings and other equipment, wall papered areas, fibreglass fittings, weather sealer areas, plastered mouldings, and specialised coatings.
  • Undertake a broad range of maintenance activities including preventative, predictive, and reactive works.
  • Assist duty technicians and other trade personnel as required.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activates comply with legislative / statutory and WHS requirements.
  • Ensure the Complex remains a functional, pleasant, and safe environment for both internal and external customers.

Criteria

  • Recognised trade qualification.
  • Hospitality / building services experience.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance strategies.
  • Team player with an eye for detail.
  • Possess a good understanding of MSDS's and safe operations.
  • Must be aware of how to safely handle, mix and apply all chemicals/paints.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a small team and follow direction.
  • Be self-motivated and take a proactive approach to work.
  • Punctual, reliable, and neatly presented in approved uniform and personal protective equipment.
  • Being flexible with shifts is essential.
