Company Description

The Australian National Veterans Arts Museum (ANVAM) is a national charity, and arts and cultural institution, that supports the wellbeing of the Veteran Community members and families, through arts engagement programs. By doing this, ANVAM promotes wellbeing and greater awareness and understanding of the impact of service on Australian military veterans and their families.

ANVAM delivers a wide range of arts programs, from the annual Festival Of Veterans Arts (FOVA) to one-on-one programs working with members of the Veteran Community based on referrals to ANVAM. ANVAM is a collecting institution building a national collection of contemporary Veterans Art, while also showcasing historical examples of veterans contribution to Australia's cultural identity through the arts.

Role Description

This is a volunteer (unpaid) role for a Company Secretary. Additionally:

  • the role is likely to require a regular weekly commitment

  • board meetings are held after hours, a minimum of six times per year

  • succesful applicants may be required to complete a Police check

  • travel and other agreed expences may be covered

The Company Secretary will be responsible for maintaining records, organising board meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role includes managing correspondence, ensuring accurate documentation, and liaising with board members and stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role based in St Kilda, VIC with some opportunities for working from home.

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in using office software and document management systems
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Prior experience in a similar role or relevant legal/administrative background is a plus
