About the Opportunity Are you hardworking and enthusiastic? Are you good at multitasking and willing to integrate to be the pharmacy point of contact for a clinical service? The Campbelltown Hospital Pharmacy Service has an exciting opportunity for a Grade 1/2 Pharmacist to join the team. See our amazing new facility and department and be part of our change. We are seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacist with a "can-do" attitude and a solid work ethic, who has experience in delivering clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting. The position requires a proven knowledge of therapeutics, as well as excellent organisational and problem-solving skills to help optimise medication management for patients and carers.
This role would suit pharmacists who have an inquiring mind and are keen to further improve their will be rotational positions and you will work with clinical leads to develop and deliver clinical services to specialist areas to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines. What You'll be Doing The Grade 1/2 Pharmacist provides of a wide range of Pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients of the hospital, including dispensing, distribution and manufacturing services with a primary focus on clinical services and advanced practice. Promotion of both safety and quality as key aspects of drug therapy and Participation in quality improvement and professional development, as well contribution to education and supervision of other staff and students is also required. Where You'll Be Working Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region. Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care. The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities. Together, these sister hospitals ensure that the diverse needs of the community are met with excellence and innovation in healthcare.
What You'll be Doing
Provision of a wide range of Pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients of the hospital, including dispensing, distribution and manufacturing services as well as clinical services. - Full Pharmacist registration with AHPRA with no restrictions to the scope of practice.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of hospital staff, and patients and carers
- Experience in the provision of clinical Pharmacy services preferably in a hospital setting consistent with the Standards of Practice of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia
- Demonstrated competence in clinical drug knowledge and experience in applying that knowledge appropriately to clinical settings
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams;
- Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and to supervise the activities of support staff
- Proven organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise according to Organisational needs
- Demonstrated understanding and application of quality improvement methodology
