The Opportunity
This is a 6-7 month contract for an experienced Workplace Relations Specialist to play a key role in providing advice, guidance and capability uplift across our business. Working alongside the members of the Workplace Relations, Safety & Advisory Services function, this role is integral in fostering a high-performance culture while mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external obligations.
You'll be the go-to partner for HR and business leaders on a wide range of Workplace Relations matters, helping to drive better outcomes for our people and clients.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support the delivery of key Workplace Relations programs of work aligned to broader organisational strategic priorities.
- Provide case management and advisory support on performance, conduct, industrial disputes, illness/injury management and investigations, and assist the team if the matter proceeds to the Fair Work Commission or court.
- Partner with HR, Legal, Payroll and Shared Services to ensure fair and consistent outcomes.
- Administer and maintain HR policies, procedures and employment contracts.
- Lead and deliver Workplace Relations training and coaching for People Leaders.
- Support policy governance, legislative updates and compliance frameworks.
- Build trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners, including unions and legal advisers.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Law or a related discipline
- 3–5 years' experience in HR or Workplace Relations advisory roles within a medium to large organisation
- Excellent understanding of the Fair Work Act and ability to quickly understand and administer our enterprise agreement
- Proven experience managing complex performance, conduct and investigation cases end-to-end
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and coach
- Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Ability to balance commercials, risk, empathy and fairness in decision making
- Experience in unionised environments and dealing with employee representatives is highly regarded
