ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to increasing demand for our product and expanding service offerings, we have a permanent full-time Yard Person position available for an experienced yard person who prides themselves on their reliability and strong work ethic.

As a Yard Person you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the loading and unloading of our freight is undertaken with strict adherence  to all Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures. Additionally you will be responsible for keeping the yard tidy, safe operation of forklifts, gate house duties and liaising in a professional manner with our freight providers.

Ideally we are looking for someone that has previous experience in a similar position and is comfortable loading and unloading trailers with a 16t forklift. You will need a positive can do attitude and is someone that is compliance focused and prides themselves on their reliability, professionalism and impeccable work ethic. We will provide full training and we will wash your uniforms but in return you must wear the appropriate PPE and fully comply with our safety rules. If your someone who has little regard for working safely, read no further, Maskill is not the place for you.

The position is key to helping Maskill maintain its reputation as Australia's leading specialist in the field of mining-class undercarriage manufacturing, repairs and refurbishment. The list below gives you an idea of the key tasks of a Stores/Yard Person:

• Safe efficient and productive operation of machines and equipment including but not limited to overhead cranes, forklifts and other power tools.
• Unloading/Loading of incoming/outgoing freight.
• General maintenance of yard facilities.
• Gatehouse duties including security monitoring.
• Freight & Transport Administrative duties.

• Previous experience working in manufacturing or heavy industries
• Confidently operated a 16t forklift
• Undertaken formal Chain of Responsibility (COR) training
• Undertaken formal Load Restraint Training
