Head of Strategy

Sky Business is an end-to-end business made up of commercial, sales, service, technology and corporate teams. This business supports business telecommunications and TV customers across four market segments (Small Business, Mid Market & Enterprise, Wholesale and Hospitality).

The Head of Strategy role is key to our strategic growth and aspirations to become a dominant player in the B2B telecoms industry driving towards $1bn of revenue over the next few years.

A Head of Strategy will work across Sky Business working particularly with the Directors and Managing Director to shape and execute the next generation of our growth and business plan.

The role is also responsible for managing a Senior Strategy Manager and so we require both a strong "sole contributor" strategy leader as well as directing the work of a small team.

What you'll do:

• Lead the production and communication of the Long-Range Plan and business strategy.

• Direct new solutions to address business challenges and opportunities to impact the LRP.

• Run annual business planning across Sky Business, working with Finance and Commercial teams to help ensure the LRP, budget and trading plans are well aligned

• Lead key pieces of strategy work including:

  • Working through the potentials of partnering with outside companies / entities to advance Sky's best interests.

  • Appraising Fiber-first initiatives, including alternative networks.

  • Teaming with Commercial, Product, Finance and Segments to ideate growth initiatives.

  • Carry out specific pieces of research and insights to support a proactive strategic growth agenda to facilitate the medium to longer term growth of Sky Business.

  • Building compelling business cases for strategic growth initiatives including market and customer research, financial modelling (costs, benefits, ROI/NPV/IRR etc), commercial evaluation and appraisal, delivery appraisals etc.

• Work with the Market Segment Leads and Comcast Business to create growth and business optimisation strategies.

• Support the business to frame and execute its M&A strategy to include - market scanning and assessments, due diligence, acquisition, integration, delivering synergies etc.

What you'll bring:

• Proven track record of leading strategy and driving growth in large, complex, or matrixed organisations in telecoms, media or technology.

• Strong commercial acumen with advanced skills in business case development, cost modelling, and financial appraisal (ROI, NPV, IRR).

• Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic partnerships that deliver long-term value.

• Proven experience in consultancy, strategy consultancy, or a corporate strategy function, with significant exposure to large-scale, cross-functional growth and optimisation strategies.

• Direct exposure to M&A processes (market scanning, due diligence, acquisition, integration, synergy delivery).

• Excellent stakeholder management and storytelling skills, with the gravitas to influence and inspire C-Suite and senior leadership.
