We have a new opportunity for a Marketing and Business Development Manager based in Sydney CBD on a fulltime basis.

We are looking for a self-motivated M&BD specialist who enjoys working as part of a collaborative marketing team.  Someone who thinks creatively, enjoys creating solutions and someone who can think both strategically and tactically

This role will be reporting to the Head of Marketing & BD, Insurance Services and with a dotted line to the Managing Director in Australia. The role will also work closely with our Practice Area (PA) partners and leaders in Australia, and in partnership with specialists within the wider, global Marketing and Business Development team. The objective will be to deliver high impact, client focussed M&BD activity.

You will be a highly professional and experienced Marketing & BD manager, confident at engaging with senior stakeholders within the business, forming trusted relationships with suppliers/clients externally, and with motivating and supporting internal colleagues.

This is a broad role, and you will be prepared to be a hands-on, critical member of the management team with operational requirements as the Australian organisation grows.

The ideal candidate will have interest and passion in all areas of marketing and business development with a particular focus on producing high quality marketing documentation. It's an exciting time at DWF with ambitious growth plans in place

The ability to operate nationally and globally to connect our specialists across service lines, acting as the 'social glue' will be crucial to the success of this role.

Responsibilities

1)     Supporting senior stakeholders with the production (including writing and editing copy) of marketing & BD materials for clients, principally capability statements, brochures and presentations/ppt decks.

2)     Delivering client-focused business development and marketing activity, with a particular focus on events.

3)     Supporting the Australia-based partners on internal events and communications.

Main Duties:

Support partners and leaders in Australia with identifying and delivering core marketing activities (including but not limited to capability statements, sponsorships, events, CRM initiatives and internal communications and events).

Contribute to sales growth through supporting partners and leaders in their activities to win new clients or expanding the range of services provided to existing clients, consistently demonstrating a clear understanding of client issues and how DWF has the capability to support these.

Identify and translate client issues into multi-jurisdictional campaigns that demonstrate how DWF can support current and future clients with the goal of driving brand awareness and creating business opportunities. This should be disseminated internally, as well as externally.

Support the budget and business planning process and manage the Australia budget on an ongoing basis, advising and guiding on planned activities to ensure resources are available.

Drive marketing plans to ensure activities stay on track and focus on the plans is maintained.

Work with Brand, Communications and Digital teams to ensure that campaign activity is coordinated across all channels.

Report on activities and their impact in the market place and on our business – to demonstrate ROI.

Be a key player in project teams within the wider M&BD team.  

Work with the key partners and core service team on developing at least one Global Key Client.

Manage future/potential junior M&BD colleagues.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Experience of working in a professional services environment is highly desirable.

Experience of the insurance sector is highly desirable.

Experience working in an international environment is highly desirable.

Proven track record in the development and implementation of marketing materials.

Proven track record in the provision of B2B or B2C multi-channel marketing campaigns.  

Client focused approach, able to demonstrate understanding of client issues.

Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiating skills.

Proven project management experience.

Creative and innovative approach.

Proactive with a positive, pragmatic, 'can do' approach

A sound business understanding as well as being commercially and risk aware
