This role is classified as Level 4 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $96,483 - $106,688). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Department

SBS Media's Commercial Strategy & Analytics team sits within Commercial Trading & Intelligence. Its purpose is to empower smarter sales, pricing, and revenue decisions through data-driven insights, predictive modelling, and scalable reporting solutions. By combining commercial analytics with practical dashboarding and forecasting, the team plays a critical role in optimising yield, guiding sales planning, and driving a data-literate culture at SBS.

The Role

Reporting to the Business Analytics and Insights Manager, the Sales Insights Analyst will play a critical role in delivering predictive models, scalable reporting, and actionable insights that directly support SBS Media's Sales, Pricing, and Revenue Operations.

This is a hands-on, foundation role that blends forecasting, modelling, dashboard design, and ad hoc commercial analysis, with the opportunity to grow into more specialised analytics or BI reporting functions as the team expands.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and improving sales and revenue forecasts using real business data.

  • Designing and developing Tableau dashboards to track sales performance, pricing, and revenue trends.

  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand commercial needs and deliver clear, actionable insights.

  • Automating reporting processes using Snowflake and Tableau to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Conducting ad hoc analysis, including scenario-based modelling, to guide planning and decision-making.

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • 1–2 years' experience in analytics, sales support, or a related field (or strong university project/internship experience).

  • Proficiency with SQL queries and working with large datasets.

  • Familiarity with Python and / or R is desirable

  • Very strong attention to detail

  • Some experience in Tableau (or similar BI tools) and strong Excel skills.

  • Curiosity about data modelling and forecasting, with a willingness to learn.

  • Strong communication skills — able to explain findings in clear, simple language.

  • A collaborative mindset — enjoys solving problems with others.
