About The Roles
Disability Transition Advisor
The Disability Transition Advisor will lead Career Education programs specifically designed for students with disability. The Disability Transition Advisor will oversee program delivery and support teachers and disability services for students receiving NDIS supports in their final year of school. SACE recognition will be provided to referring schools to support SACE completion. The Disability Transition Advisor works with the other Disability Transition Advisors, Pathways Advisors and Student Pathways and Careers staff.
The Student Pathways and Careers hosted Transition Programs are located at Noarlunga, Elizabeth, and Adelaide. Programs are based on demand, following a set criteria for a maximum of 12 students per group. Each program works in partnership with the enrolling school and family to provide students with disability, the skills, and opportunities to transition directly to an employment or further education pathway.
Disability Transition Advisors also support schools to plan and embed Career Education and host their own Transition Program for students with disability.
The incumbent will participate in the teaching of curriculum and Career Education within the Student Pathways and Careers' hosted Transition Program as negotiated based on program needs.
Pathways Advisor
The Student Pathways and Careers Division provides a focus on supporting our secondary schools to provide a consistent approach to engage, retain and transition young people to employment, vocational learning and higher education. The Pathways Advisor ensures school leadership is well supported with strategies and initiatives so that every government secondary student can complete SACE and transition into a meaningful pathway. Through a Schools Support Service, the Pathways Advisor works with Principals and school leaders to provide advice, guidance and support leading to action planning and implementation of strategies and initiatives to improve retention, SACE completion and transition outcomes of students.
In addition to a general advisory role supporting schools, the Pathways Advisor will build capacity of colleagues and school staff to plan and embed Career Education, and deliver quality pathway programs which align to policy and department, government, and state economic priorities to ensure schools are well positioned to support all student pathway outcomes. The Pathways Advisors will work with key stakeholders to develop and implement a broad range of career education initiatives to ensure young people are well equipped to get a head start into the workforce by commencing an identified post school pathway while at school. The Pathways Advisor will be required to build strong expertise of all elements that provide successful student pathways including the capacity to build colleagues' understanding of these elements.
The role will also support schools maximise to the flexibility within the curriculum and the SACE to embed career education across all year levels. The incumbent may on occasions be required to support or teach curriculum and/or Career Education within Student Pathways and Careers' hosted programs as negotiated based on program needs.
Qualifications
Disability Transition Advisor

Current Teacher Registration.
Desirable:
A qualification in Career Development, Special Education or Disability
Pathways Advisor
Essential:
Nil.
Desirable:
An appropriate qualification in an education related field and/or equivalent experience. Or a qualification in career development or related field.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
S121 2 $131,315 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%)
