Located in beautiful Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, Canvas Espresso is a well-established cafe with a focus on specialty coffee with a modern breakfast and lunch offering combined with friendly, professional service.

The opportunity

Due to our ongoing success, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Breakfast Chef to join our fantastic team. We are looking for someone that is excited using seasonal ingredients and has the passion to cook beautiful, wholesome food. We love using the best produce we can find and have a beautiful kitchen with a small kitchen team to work with.

What you'll do

  • Cook breakfast and lunch items on current menu and any specials currently running
  • Prepare all ingredients used in our menu items
  • Potentially help with menu development and creation of modern breakfast and lunch items
  • Contribute to the development of a positive team culture
  • Food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety, and sanitation

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef in a similar environment
  • Relevant trade qualifications
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification required
  • Strong work ethic and highly motivated
  • Passion for, and a sense of pride in your work
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Must have full working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in stock management, ordering, and kitchen workflow organisation

Ideally, you will have a passion for food and are inspired to master your cuisine. Although experience with cafecuisine is highly advantageous, we believe the candidate with the right skills and attitude will make this role and our business a continued success.
