Pursuits Specialist

About Us

At HDR, we specialise in engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services. While we are most well-known for adding beauty and structure to communities through high-performance buildings and smart infrastructure, we provide much more than that. We create an unshakable foundation for progress because our multidisciplinary teams also include scientists, economists, builders, analysts and artists.

HDR supports an inclusive and diverse work environment and is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians and people of culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.

Watch Our Story:

We believe that the way we work can add meaning and value to the world. That ideas inspire positive change. That colouring outside the lines can illuminate fresh perspectives. And that small details yield important realisations. Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.

Pursuits Specialist (Parental Leave Contract)

The Role

To support HDR's continued commitment to design excellence and innovation, our architecture practice is looking for a passionate Pursuits Specialist to support and drive high quality bids and submissions. This role is being offered on a 9-12 month parental leave cover period, with the possibility of extension or permanent contract after the initial engagement.

As part of our dynamic global team, you'll lead the full lifecycle of pursuit activities from identifying opportunities and coordinating responses, to compelling crafting submissions that win new work and support the growth of our practice.

This role will see you working in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment where innovation is encouraged, and delivery excellence is celebrated.

As Pursuits Specialist we'll count on you to:

  • Manage end-to-end Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and tender submissions.

  • Read new tender documentation and fully understand the requirements for the submissions process.

  • Coordinate with local and global teams to craft compelling, visually engaging submissions using InDesign.

  • Support our principals in developing win strategies and value propositions.

  • Coordinate internal strategy meetings, follow up meetings, staff and sub-consultant input to meet deadlines.

  • Write, edit and tailor content that turns complex technical information into clear, persuasive narratives.

  • Maintain and update CRM databases and marketing collateral to support pursuit success.

  • Quality Control the appearance, editorial content and relevancy of responses for proposals.

  • Populate response schedules, spreadsheets and project outlines with key data.

  • Write sections of the submission developed from bullet points and other information provided.

  • Participate and collaborate in our go/no go process.

  • Ensure marketing and pursuit material is up to date, including the content library, project sheets and CV's.

About You

You are an inquisitive and proactive individual with excellent communication skills who thrives in a dynamic environment that requires collaboration across local and global teams. Success in this role means you can confidently engage with a range of stakeholders and have a proven ability to coordinate efforts that enable your colleagues to meet tight deadlines. You bring a solution-oriented mindset, keen attention to detail and the drive to ensure every pursuit is executed to the highest standard.

Your key qualifications and experience should include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (eg. Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Professional Service degree, such as Architecture, Landscape Architecture or other related technical field is preferred).

  • 3 years' experience working in a bids or pursuits capacity, preferably within the AEC industry.

  • Experience working within architecture – highly advantageous.

  • Mastery of Adobe InDesign CC and MS Office products.

  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement ability.

This role is being offered on a 9-12 month parental leave cover period, with the possibility of extension or permanent contract after the initial engagement.
