Project Engineer Required – Western Sydney Airport Metro – Orchard Hills

New Era Electrical Services (NSW) Pty Ltd is a well-established and reputable Electrical & Communications company specialising in the electrical industry. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Engineer to join our Electrical Services Team based on-site in Western Sydney.


About the Role:

As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of the electrical scope on our latest rail infrastructure project. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider operations team, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, design review, developing scopes of work for variations and specialist subcontractor packages, drafting value engineering solutions, and maintaining clear communication with clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and interpreting electrical design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Preparing scopes of work, technical documentation, and assisting with cost estimates for electrical systems and any required variations.
  • Collaborating with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to review and validate equipment technical specifications, ensuring suitability for the intended application.
  • Conducting site inspections and technical audits to monitor adherence to design.
  • Collaborating with the project manager and other engineering disciplines to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Developing value engineering proposals to optimize system performance, reduce costs, or improve constructability.
  • Participating in project meetings and liaising with clients to provide updates and clarify technical aspects.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Required)
  • 3+ years experience within Tier 1 electrical contracting. (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards
  • Experience in design issue resolution and value engineering
  • Proficient in developing detailed redlines of electrical schematics and shop drawings to support 3D BIM model integration.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy
  • Strong background in using PowerPak, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Revizto
  • Current White Card.
