Hot Rod Betty Pty Ltd provides support for the NDIS participant as needed while at home and accessing the community.
Hot Rod Betty Pty Ltd operates on a 'client-owned service' model with the NDIS Participant serving as Director of Hot Rod Betty Pty Ltd and manages the service.
Good Directions is an accredited Disability Service Provider who contracts with Hot Rod Betty Pty Ltd to provide disability support services.

POSITION PURPOSE
The Disability Support Worker is responsible to provide support by providing high quality care that supports the emotional, social and daily needs of the supported person.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Provide support care that meets the day-to-day requirements
- Provide support care that delivers quality outcomes
KEY RESULT AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PERSONAL SUPPORT
- Contribute to the development of a safe and nurturing environment
- Carry out personal duties including assisting with showering, dressing, feeding, toileting, personal hygiene, transport, recreational activities
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the individual care plan that meets the emotional, social and daily needs
- Assist to develop independent living skills
- Protect and respect their rights
- Safeguard the wellbeing and report any concerns immediately
- Support to remain connected to the significant people and places
- Provide support that is sensitive to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients and their families.
TEAM ROLE
- Provide support that reflects the organisation's values, policies and practice frameworks including the Client-owned service model
- Work collaboratively with others including supportstaff and the family
- Undertake rostered duties as required
- Carry out household duties including cleaning, shopping, meal preparation, minor property and grounds maintenance
- Maintain documentation as required [including incident reports, hazard and injury log etc]
- Ensure that sensitive information is kept in a secure and confidential manner
- Comply with the organisation's administrative and financial management procedures
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The successful applicant will have:
- Willingness to provide personal care in a residential or alternative environment
- Experience and understanding of WH&S in the workplace
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to the purpose and values of Hot Rod Betty Pty Ltd
- Qualifications in disability work or relevant field, suitable experience or willingness to learn
- Willingness to accept overnight, weekend, public holidays and home support shifts
OTHER JOB-RELATED INFORMATION
The incumbent is required to:
- Observe and actively support Hot Rod Betty Pty Ltd's WH&S policy and strategy.
- Attend Induction and individualised onsite training as required
MUST POSSESS:
- Valid and current SA Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- DCSI Clearance/s
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to obtain DCSI Clearance for this position
- 2 x Impeccable relevant references
