Dats is a long-established wholesaler of consumer goods to major retail chains.

We currently have a vacancy for a Buying Assistant to provide support within our Buying Team.

Reporting to your Buyer, duties include:

  • Communicate with overseas suppliers
  • Create products in our ERP system (Pronto)
  • Raise purchase orders
  • Assist with product range development and packaging
  • Liaise with Sales in terms of product details and delivery
  • Manage sample requests
  • Organise product submissions
  • Expedite shipments and compile shipping paperwork

The ideal candidate will be numerate and computer literate (MS Excel), with good organisational skills and attention to detail. Previous experience in Buying at an importer, distributor or retailer will be highly regarded.

Those nearing completion or having completed Business studies are encouraged to apply. This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience in many facets of buying and product development.

This is a full-time position Mon-Fri.

Please note that your own transport is essential as our location in Orchard Hills next to Erskine Park is not serviced by public transport. Free parking is provided on-site.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
