Assistant Manager – International Steel Trade Associate

Your duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Business Division : Steel

Item : Steel Supply / Building, Solar & Wind Farm, Infrastructure Project

  1. Communicate with HQ, suppliers and customers in a timeframe to get business work smoothly.

  2. Search and provide HQ, suppliers and customers relevant market information

  3. Report current status of business to the Managing Director and HQ.

  4. Develop a certain project under cooperation and guide of HQ.

  5. Indicative tasks of the position are:

º Communication

  • Communicate with HQ, partners, related entities and colleagues in oral or written ways

º Information Handling

  • Search and update Australian local market information of relevant businesses
  • Do necessary data mining and provide such information to HQ but when providing information to external business entities, only available under internal approval

º Reporting

  • When necessary, make reports regarding business to Managing Director or HQ
  • Clarify and follow up businesses when requested from HQ or internal colleagues

º Business Trip

  • May arrange own business trip when necessary, under approval of Managing Director
  • Summarise minute records of business meetings, and keep internally

º Organization

  • Compete own or internal tasks in a timeframe
  • Assist to other colleagues to complete tasks
  • Coordinate own work routine with Managing Director and other colleagues

º Business Development

  • Search and update new businesses or project opportunities
  • Make own business or project plan, share and discuss with internal colleagues, Managing Director and HQ
  • Establish relevant industry network including partners, local governments and other relevant business entities
  • Pioneer and develop new businesses including new projects, new customers and new markets with new ideas and strategies

º Managing Business

  • Manage existing industry network such as business partners and local governments
  • Keep monitoring industry and market, instantly report to internal colleagues, Managing Director and HQ when newly updated

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Survey of demand and supply in the Australian steel market

  • Research on Australian infrastructure, renewable energy projects

  • Resuming business activities with long-term non-trading customers and developing new clients in the Australian steel market

  • Investigation into Australian anti-dumping regulations, import/export status, etc.

  • Coordination of shipping documents and negotiations with carriers and freight forwarders based on trading methods

  • Communication between headquarters staff at POSCO International and customers in Australia

  • Active efforts in steel sales through phone calls, emails, visits, and business trips

  • Development of new suppliers including those from China and other countries

  • Diligent compliance with additional information verification and instructions from headquarters

Self-initiated efforts such as studying to enhance understanding

of steel products and project execution
