You will be part of a knowledgeable and supportive team that values collaboration, diversity, and professional growth. With access to flexible working arrangements, comprehensive learning and development programmes, and a strong commitment to work-life balance, this is your chance to contribute to projects that shape the future of education while enjoying a rewarding and inclusive workplace culture.

  • Be part of an inclusive team that values diverse perspectives, promotes open communication, and is committed to upholding human rights and ethical standards in every aspect of its operations.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Facilities Services Officer based in Brisbane, you will play an integral role in shaping the physical environments where learning takes place. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating closely with colleagues across various teams to analyse current practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement robust solutions that enhance asset management processes. You will provide trusted advice on complex facilities issues to a broad range of stakeholders including school staff and community members. By preparing detailed reports and contributing to policy development initiatives, you will help ensure that infrastructure projects are delivered efficiently and align with broader organisational priorities. Your ability to communicate clearly and foster productive relationships will be essential as you navigate multiple projects simultaneously. Success in this position requires not only technical expertise but also a genuine commitment to supporting others through shared knowledge and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Undertake detailed research, analysis, and evaluation activities to support continuous business improvements in infrastructure, planning, and asset management programmes.
  • Provide expert advice and information to internal clients, directors, managers, school staff, regional teams, and community stakeholders on a wide range of facilities-related issues.
  • Participate actively in project teams responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing policies and procedures aligned with strategic departmental goals.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure best practice approaches are consistently applied across all infrastructure services.
  • Prepare comprehensive Ministerial responses, reports, submissions, and briefing materials by analysing complex information related to infrastructure planning and asset management.
  • Support operational activities within your team by prioritising workloads effectively to meet service delivery deadlines and programme requirements.
  • Contribute to the formulation of innovative solutions for infrastructure challenges that align with industry-recognised quality standards.
  • Promote best practice within your team by sharing knowledge and supporting the implementation of improved processes for managing departmental assets.
  • Engage in consultation with supervisors regarding health, safety, and wellbeing matters while complying with all relevant legislation and organisational procedures.
  • Undertake additional work unit-specific tasks as required to support the overall objectives of the branch.

What You Bring
To excel as a Senior Facilities Services Officer in this environment, you will bring proven experience from roles involving infrastructure services or asset management—ideally within large or complex organisations. Your background should include hands-on involvement in research-driven business improvement initiatives where your analytical skills have contributed directly to enhanced outcomes. You are adept at translating technical information into accessible advice for varied audiences while building trust through your dependable communication style. Your approach is grounded in empathy; you value teamwork highly and thrive when collaborating towards shared goals. A keen eye for detail ensures your written work is always accurate and insightful. You are comfortable navigating shifting priorities without losing sight of deadlines or service standards. Above all else, your commitment to inclusivity means you actively seek out opportunities for knowledge-sharing while respecting diverse perspectives within your team.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting thorough research and analysis to inform business improvements within large-scale infrastructure or asset management settings.
  • Proven ability to provide clear advice on complex facilities issues to diverse audiences including senior managers, school staff, regional teams, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong track record participating in multi-disciplinary project teams focused on developing or refining policies aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to maintain effective communication networks both internally among colleagues and externally with partners or clients.
  • Experience preparing high-quality written materials such as Ministerial responses, reports, submissions, or briefing notes based on critical analysis of data.
  • Capacity to manage competing priorities effectively while ensuring timely delivery of services within established timeframes.
  • Commitment to promoting best practice approaches within teams by sharing knowledge openly and supporting process improvements.
  • Understanding of relevant legislative frameworks governing workplace health, safety, wellbeing responsibilities as well as information management protocols.
  • Ability to adapt quickly when undertaking additional tasks specific to changing work unit needs or organisational priorities.
