With over 230 stores, our client is a leading retailer and service provider in in Australia and New Zealand.

About the role

As a result of growth, a new contract Legal Counsel role has been created for a lawyer with 6-10+ years' PQE. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be responsible for a wide variety of commercial and consumer-focused matters, including:

  • M&A, corporate advisory and corporate finance transactions
  • Commercial contracts and procurement
  • Competition and consumer law matters (including marketing, advertising, and promotions)

You will also work closely with key business stakeholders, including the CFO and key commercial leaders, to ensure that the business complies with its legal and regulatory obligations.

This role is offered as an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension or of becoming permanent.

About you

You will be an enthusiastic lawyer with at least 6+ years' experience in a reputable law firm or in-house within a corporate environment. Ideally, you will have experience in commercial contracting and corporate advisory.

You will be adaptable and operate with a high degree of integrity.
