About the Role

Summerstar Tourist Parks is seeking an enthusiastic, capable Assistant Manager to join the team at the Bunbury Apartment Motel in Western Australia.

This is a full-time, hands-on role supporting the Motel Manager in the day-to-day operations of a well-established property known for its friendly atmosphere and high guest satisfaction.

We're ideally looking for someone who resides within 10 minutes of the Motel (due to after-hours callouts), or alternatively, someone who has their own caravan and would like to live onsite, using the private, plumbed ablution block located beside the powered site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day motel operations in the Manager's absence
  • Manage guest enquiries, bookings, check-ins, and check-outs
  • Maintain guest satisfaction through proactive problem-solving and service excellence
  • Supervise housekeeping and maintenance teams, ensuring a clean and safe environment
  • Perform basic administrative and financial tasks (RMS experience preferred)
  • Assist with rostering, training, and supporting team members
  • Monitor OH&S and security requirements
  • Be available for after-hours calls (within reasonable rotation)

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in motel or hospitality management (or a similar leadership role)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Sound understanding of operational, HR, and financial processes
  • Computer literacy (RMS or similar property management systems an advantage)
  • Reliable, practical, and calm under pressure
  • Full driver's licence and reliable transport (if living offsite)

Desirable

  • Previous experience living or working onsite in an accommodation or tourism setting
  • Basic maintenance or hands-on practical skills
