About the Company

Our client, a national firm, is seeking a high-performing Senior Associate to join their Melbourne team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a dynamic, collaborative environment where your technical expertise and commercial acumen will be genuinely valued.

About the Position

You'll be advising on a broad range of corporate matters, with a strong focus on M&A transactions. The role involves managing deals end-to-end, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, and contributing to the growth and culture of a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead private and public M&A transactions, including share and asset sales
  • Draft and negotiate key transaction documents (SPAs, APAs, shareholder agreements)
  • Advise on corporate structuring, governance, and directors' duties
  • Navigate regulatory frameworks including Chapters 6 and 6D of the Corporations Act, AFSL obligations, ASX Listing Rules, and competition law
  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts (JV, supply, distribution, service agreements)

About You

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Minimum 5 years' post-admission experience in corporate/M&A law
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to deliver practical, business-focused advice
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong client relationships
  • Collaborative approach with experience working across practice groups
