The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site / Design Engineer to join our Urban Development Team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting site inspections and relevant hold points
  • Project scope establishment and tender preparation
  • Contract administration including certification of claims, extensions of time, quality of workmanship and claims made under the contract
  • Frequent liaison with designers, approval stakeholders, contractors and clients
  • Resolution of contractual issues
  • Mentoring and development of team members
  • Undertaking, learning and developing various disciplines of design

About you

You will have strong and demonstrable experience in the tender and construction phases of a diverse range of projects, with similar previous project experience acting with autonomy for all the functions as a Site Engineer on various land development projects.

Skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified engineer or degree in civil construction management with ideally 2+ years of experience in the management of design and preparation of technical documentation, projects.
  • A deep understanding of and in-depth practical experience as Site Engineer administering common standard form contracts like AS2124 and 4000.
  • The ability to apply judgement and a sound understanding of the law of the contract and project documents to make determinations, certifications and directions.
  • The ability to appreciate a project and the value the client seeks to derive from it and use that to work in a collaborative and proactive manner with stakeholders, designers, clients and contractors to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive mindset and drive with a passion for personal development.
  • Flexibility to work autonomously and in diverse teams including the mentoring and direction of team members.
