About the role

We currently have multiple exciting opportunities available at our Ironbark No. 1 operation for experienced Development Underground Coal Mine Operators to join and support our development crews.

You will be reporting to the ERZ Controller and be responsible to work towards production targets safely and support efficiencies in all associated functions whilst undertaking relevant tasks. You will be involved in the preparation, planning and timely executive of daily work as issued from the approved weekly schedules.

Key Responsibilities

As a Development Operator, you'll play a key role in operating equipment and supporting infrastructure installations to ensure the safe and efficient progress of our underground development operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operate and assist with development mining equipment, including: Continuous Miner (Joy Miners, 12cm12 and 12cm30's) and Shuttle Cars, LHDs, Bolters

• Install and maintain underground services (ventilation, water, air, cables)

• Carry out ground support tasks including roof bolting and mesh installation
• Conduct pre-start inspections and hazard identification
• Work to daily and weekly development schedules
• Complete documentation including production reports and safety checklists
• Working safely and efficiently in all associated functions, to support the achievement of production targets and undertake any other tasks for the operations.
• Preparation, planning and timely execution of daily work as issued from the approved weekly schedules.
• Contributing to the development of a safe, positive, and collaborative organisational culture.
• Provide a daily shift report, indicating the results of routine examinations carried out on the shift, any defects found and/or repaired, hours worked on each job, and an assessment of the relevant piece of equipment where required.

About You

• Significant previous experience working in an underground coal mine. Only people with this experience will be considered.
• Standard 11 Surface and Underground
• Queensland Coal Board Medical
• Relevant Qualifications and Tickets
• Demonstrated history of working safely
• Commitment to the achievement of business goals and outcomes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work well within a team
