Clarity Health Care in partnership with Wellways operates the Country to Coast Medicare Mental Health Centre locations across Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Gladstone and Bundaberg.

The Medicare Mental Health Centres, formerly Head to Health, are an important part of the Australia's reformed mental health and wellbeing system. Funded by Country to Coast QLD, through the Australian government's Primary Health Network (PHN), the Country to Coast Medicare Mental Health Centre provides the community with a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services. Walk-ins will be welcomed, services are confidential, and no appointment or referral will be needed.

The Role 

The Clinical Team Leader will utilise their experience in team leadership, clinical supervision, and providing evidence-based interventions to consumers. 

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of Mental Health Clinicians to support people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress and substance use or addiction. As part of the leadership team, the Clinical Team Leader will lead by example, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement while directly supporting the delivery of responsive, recovery-oriented services.  This role is based at Rockhampton

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership, line management, coaching and supervision of the Clinical Team
  • Managing Clinical Safety and Clinical Risk and on a day-to-day basis and within the Clinical Governance Framework
  • Supporting quality improvements and the development of procedures relating to clinical service delivery
  • Promoting continuous quality improvements and providing clinically-sound evidence based services

About you

  • Bachelor / Masters of Psychology (clinical preferred) or other relevant qualification.
  • Leadership qualification or relevant Community Sector experience
  • Minimum 8+ years' mental health experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership/management role. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise and motivate a clinical team.
  • Experience working with high-risk and complex presentations.
  • Proven ability to drive system and service improvements.
  • Understanding of legislative frameworks, accreditation standards and best practice clinical governance.
  • Strong commitment to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, inclusive practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments and development of intervention plans in collaboration with consumers and their families and carers.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in providing holistic, evidence-based therapeutic services.
  • Understanding of the biological, psychological, and social underpinnings of mental health.
  • Ability to work with autonomy and as an integral member of an established multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work autonomously under limited supervision, exercising sound professional judgement and seeking advice and consultation when appropriate
  • National Police Check, Current Working with Children Check-employment, Australian working rights
