Westfill Pty Ltd is a specialised underground mining contractor and service provider based in Western Australia, with decades of boots-on-the-ground experience and practical knowledge to provide quality personnel, products and operational contract services into the underground mining industry. 

The Maintenance Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily maintenance operations within Westfill. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained, reducing downtime and ensuring continuous operations to align with mining targets, in a cost-effective manner. This role is an 8/6 roster, day shift only role, with active, hands-on responsibilities at our main mine site based in WA.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, supervise and coach a team of maintenance personnel to achieve production targets.
  • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mobile plant and ensure breakdowns are attended to quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee inspections, servicing, repairs, and rebuilds.
  • Assist with the organising of parts, transport, order numbers and purchasing.
  • Raise work orders and ensure accurate record-keeping in the maintenance system (e.g., TRAK, Pronto, etc.).
  • Management of expenditure against budget for both direct purchases and labour requests.
  • Demonstrate leadership in addressing and providing feedback on team member concerns and issues.
  • Lead by example in applying risk management practices, including permits, JHAs, and hazard reporting.
  • Undertake screening, interviews and any other recruitment functions necessary, in conjunction with the recruitment team, to ensure labour requirements align with project demands and contract allowances are fulfilled.
  • Ensure maintenance activities, site practices and maintenance personnel behaviours align with statutory requirements, including but not limited to legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements.

What You'll Need:

  • Australian-recognised Cert III Mobile Plant or equivalent trade qualification (essential).
  • S26 qualified (essential).
  • 5+ years experience managing a crew of maintenance personnel (essential).
  • Underground mining experience (essential).
  • Pronto experience (highly desired).
  • Safety-first mindset (essential).
  • WA-based (essential).
