JS Careers has been engaged to find a Technical Lead to establish the core wealth infrastructure for a fast-growing financial services platform.

This is a hands-on, build from-the ground-up role where you'll combine engineering output with architectural leadership, setting the standards that will underpin a regulated capital markets platform. Reporting to the CEO you'll shape system architecture, data pipelines, and compliance frameworks while acting as a player-coach to the broader engineering team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing and implementing canonical data models for core wealth entities (client, account, portfolio, transaction, ledger)
  • Defining event-sourced ledger architecture with reconciliation and audit replay (GS007 / ASAE 3402)
  • Engineering ingestion pipelines for custody, execution, and market data feeds (FIX / ISO 20022 / Open Banking APIs)
  • Establishing API gateway standards (REST/GraphQL) with RBAC and latency SLAs
  • Standing up CI/CD pipelines, containerisation strategy, monitoring dashboards, and secrets management
  • Embedding compliance-driven design: audit logs, schema versioning, provenance tracking, and regulatory rule enforcement (ASIC RG97, MiFID II)
  • Acting as a player-coach: contributing production code, setting coding standards, and mentoring engineers
  • Scoping the technical roadmap for future hires (Integration Engineer, QA, Data/Quant Engineer)

What we're looking for:

  • 10+ years in wealthtech, fintech, or capital markets systems
  • Strong experience with custody/clearing integrations, reconciliations, and reporting engines
  • Hands-on system architecture and data pipeline expertise in regulated environments
  • A player-coach mindset: able to ship code 50% and set direction 50%
