About the Role
We are seeking a Cyber Risk and Resilience Coordinator to strengthen our cyber security posture and lead our resilience function. This role is an exciting opportunity to drive initiatives that directly support critical healthcare services for young people and families across Western Australia.
Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, you will lead a Security Analyst, and working together, you will play an important role in enhancing resilience advancing operational security goals across our complex IT and operational technology landscape. This includes conducting risk assessment, coordinating incident response, and ensuring service continuity, creating effective cyber incident playbooks and response strategies, and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
Your ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including third party service providers, will be key to success in this role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cyber Leadership: Overseeing incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance with Essential Eight, SOCI Act, and WA Government policies.
- Incident Response: Detecting and managing cyber incidents, ensuring service partners align with security protocols and service agreements.
- Risk Assessment and Governance: Conducting risk assessments, developing cyber incident response plans, managing security audits, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance security protocols and processes.
- Training and Awareness: Developing and implementing security training programs, ensuring that CAHS staff are well-versed in cybersecurity best practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Representing CAHS in government cyber security committees and liaising with external providers.
- Policy Development and Compliance: Contributing to the creation and continuous improvement of policies, standards, and procedures to ensure effective disaster recovery and service continuity for CAHS.

The ideal candidate will have sound experience in cyber risk management, incident response, and resilience planning in complex IT settings. Direct experience within a health or critical infrastructure setting will be highly regarded.
Proficiency in Microsoft (Defender, Sentinel), Cisco, and security monitoring tools and knowledge of Essential Eight and SOCI Act frameworks will be highly regarded.

The Cyber Security team at CAHS is essential in protecting our digital environment and ensuring resilience against cyber threats. Our primary mission is to protect CAHS' information assets and ensure the continuity of vital healthcare services through robust security practices and proactive risk management, collaboration, and compliance.
We focus on a comprehensive cyber security strategy that emphasises resilience, incident response, and adherence to key frameworks like the WA Cyber Security Policy, Essential Eight, and SOCI Act. This includes crafting policies and controls that meet regulatory standards and embedding governance into daily operations.
Our team manages risk by conducting assessments, addressing vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance. Additionally, we promote a culture of security awareness, providing regular training to empower staff to identify and handle potential cyber threats effectively.
