The role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our client's team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Installing, aligning, and commissioning new equipment as required
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company policies and procedures
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reliability
  • Working collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime
  • Maintaining accurate service and repair records

Essential requirements

  • Trade qualification as a Fitter / Maintenance Fitter or equivalent
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting and equipment maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, and rotating equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Competence in fault finding, preventative and breakdown maintenance
  • Awareness of workplace health & safety requirements and safe work practices
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or on-call as required
