The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has 50 years of proud history, and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and Deep Level Maintenance (DLM) facility based in Broadmeadow NSW. About the Position

As a newly created role, we are seeking a Volunteers and Community Fundraising Manager to lead fundraising programs across Northern NSW with vision and energy.

In this role you will:

  • Create a vision and strategy for volunteering and third-party community fundraisers
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a dedicated team of staff and volunteers across northern NSW
  • Embed systems of risk management in third-party events
  • Grow and manage relationships with passionate volunteers and third-party fundraisers
  • Protect / enhance brand and reputation
  • Drive volunteer recruitment, engagement, and recognition/reward strategies
  • Develop and deliver long-term plans to ensure sustainability and impact across the Service
  • Manage the budget and assist Volunteers and Community Fundraisers with budgeting processes.
  • Ensure fundraising regulatory compliance

Planned travel within the Hunter, Tamworth and Lismore Regions will be an expectation in this position.

Due to the nature of the events, this role will involve some planned weekend and after-hours work engaging both face to face and remotely with our third-party supporters at their meetings and events.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Vision for the future for volunteering and community fundraising
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with ability to motivate and build team culture - leadership responsibilities will include people, financial, risk, safety, brand, compliance
  • Demonstrated experience nurturing and building corporate partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience in third party volunteer management and community fundraising
  • Exceptional communication skills that will include but not be limited to written comms, speech making and leading recognition ceremonies
  • Strong organisational, planning, and personal workload / time management skills
  • An eye for detail
  • Solutions orientated and inspiring outlook to champion the portfolio with all stakeholders
  • Strong computer literacy
  • A current Drivers Licence
  • Retail industry experience is desirable with six op shops under your management
