CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is seeking a visionary executive to lead one of the most impactful portfolios in our organisation—Children's Services. The Role Reporting to the Executive Director, the General Manager – Children's Services is a key member of the executive leadership team. You will lead the strategic, operational, and mission-focused development of our children's programs, ensuring they are innovative, high-quality, financially sustainable, and spiritually enriching.
This role is about more than management—it's about transformational leadership. You will:
- Shape and execute strategic plans for growth and innovation.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Champion Catholic identity and spirituality in daily service life.
- Build strong partnerships with diocesan leaders, schools, families, and communities.
- Lead a large, diverse workforce with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
Key Leadership Responsibilities
- Drive operational performance and ensure compliance with all regulatory frameworks.
- Lead service innovation, particularly for children with disabilities, First Nations children, and families experiencing disadvantage.
- Oversee tenders, funding applications, and strategic business development.
- Ensure safeguarding, risk management, and wellbeing are embedded across all services.
- Promote reflective practice, trauma-informed care, and professional development.
- Supervise Practice and Quality Managers and mentor emerging leaders.
Who You Are You are a seasoned executive who brings:
- A personal and active faith in Catholic values, with a deep understanding of Catholic social teaching.
- Proven leadership in children's services or related sectors (5+ years at senior level).
- Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Strategic vision and operational expertise, with a track record of service growth.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills.
- A commitment to excellence, inclusion, and innovation.
You must also have:
- A current Australian Driver's Licence and access to an insured vehicle.
- Capacity to take on the Role of Person in Management and Control (PMC).
Desirable certifications include:
- CHCPRT025 Identify and Respond
- First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, and CPR
