Deloitte Debt and Capital Advisory comprises a team of highly experienced professionals based in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with national client coverage and deal origination responsibilities. We are and linked to a Deloitte global network of 180 offices around the world.

We advise a broad range of borrowers including ASX-listed and private corporates, private equity, real estate, infrastructure and government entities. We work closely with Board members, CEO's, CFO's and treasury teams in a range of industry sectors to provide advice across the full spectrum of debt and capital markets. We assist with debt and capital raising, debt refinancing and restructuring, credit rating advisory, as well as capital structuring and capital management exercises. Our advice covers a broad array of capital products including traditional bank facilities, acquisition and leverage finance, project and asset specific funding, direct institutional lending, real estate development and construction financing, together with hybrids and equity.

Our team is the trusted financial advisor to many iconic corporate both listed and private, real estate sector and government clients across Australia having advised and arranged funding of over $12bn+ in the past several years.

What will your typical day look like?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a tight-knit and diverse team where collaboration and unconventional thinking drive success. You'll apply commercial insights to challenge norms, crafting innovative financing solutions for our clients' strategic goals. Expect a rewarding experience advising a diverse range of clients.

In our dynamic team, you'll have responsibility for driving and supporting origination opportunities as well as day-to-day responsibilities for managing the execution of client engagements across a wide spectrum of industries and capital sources together with development of junior team members. Further you will build relationships across lenders and investors globally including from banks, non-bank lenders (e.g specialist asset financiers and credit funds), private equity and institutional investors. You will be involved in delivering high-value ideas and executing them with excellence. Your leadership, negotiation, and influence skills will be key in supporting stakeholders with innovative financing solutions that drive successful outcomes and value for our clients.

You are a natural leader, collaborator and highly regarded in the marketplace. Prior experience in Debt and Capital Advisory or corporate or investment banking is preferred, with a demonstrable solid book of past successful deals and clients.

You will also have:

At least 10+ years' experience in Debt and Capital Advisory (Big 4 or boutique firms), or Corporate & Institutional or Investment Banking with proven expertise in origination, structuring and execution of Debt and Capital Advisory and/or Corporate Finance related mandates.

Commercially astute with a sound understanding of financial markets, debt and capital-related products, and trends across local and global debt capital markets.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead transactions and manage client and financier relationships and interactions with integrity and professionalism.

Demonstrable ability to manage and develop relationships with clients and financiers.

Strong coaching, mentoring and team management skills, with a passion for developing others.

A commitment to, and proven experience in, delivering an exceptional service to clients with an ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships.

Strong analytical skills and an understanding of financial statements and credit analysis.

Excellent numeracy skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb and analyse large amounts of data quickly and an ability to undertake detailed financial and commercial analysis for inclusion in presentations and client reports.

Appetite to be a self-starter in the market but a willingness to adopt a collaborative style and an ability to work with the broader team.

Proven project management and organisational skills.

A degree in finance economics accounting or mathematics with a relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CA, CFA, or Masters in Finance).
