Castledex is a full-service provider of FF&E (furniture, fit-out and equipment). We are a market leader and work on some of the biggest building projects in Western Australia. We operate a 3,000 sqm warehouse, a world class showroom, a Brisbane business and a support team of over 100 friendly and enthusiastic Castledexians.

The role is a varied one with the focus being the analysing, recording, and reporting on our financial records. You will be the link between the team and the accounting manager and operate as a 2iC that is striving to grow into the manager role. The role operates in a fast-paced environment and will require you to provide insight and information to the management, finance, and operations teams regarding our financial position to assist them make great business decisions.

Some of the tasks you'll do during your working day:

· Perform month end reconciliations and prepare relevant journals

· Prepare and lodge statutory obligations such as BAS, Payroll tax, Super and FBT.

· Understand the accounts payable and receivable processes to provide coverage and to assist with queries

· Perform reconciliations of GL accounts.

· Assist with the preparation of management reports.

· Provide backup to payroll processing and assist with answering payroll queries.

· Prepare and perform payroll related reporting, including year-end reconciliation

· Support the accounts manager with ensuring our ERP, Odoo, is used to its full potential across all functions.

· Provide robust management of company liabilities.

· Assisting with the preparation of Financial Statements

· Assisting in the half-year and annual audit preparation and liaising with external accountants and auditors

· Provide training and backup to the wider finance team, as required.

· Support and assist accounts manager with other accounting and financial duties, as necessary.

· Be a helpful and proactive member of the finance team in answering queries from the wider Castledex team.

· From time to time, you may be required to assist with answering phones, greeting walk-ins and general admin duties.

You will hopefully already have the following skills or experience:

· A passion for accounting and continuous business improvement.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· High level of initiative and a proactive approach to work.

· Strong skill levels in Excel and general computer literacy

· Ability to make a mistake, admit it and improve.

· Accuracy and strong attention to detail.

· Exceptional time management and the ability to solve complex problems.

· Ability to work under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks at once.

You will need to have the appropriate qualifications and experience:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting.

· CPA/CA/CIMA qualified or currently working towards.

· Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.

· Strong accounting knowledge and experience with reconciliations and reporting.

· Payroll experience.

· Proficiency in accounting software systems and experience in Odoo and/or SAP is desirable.
