The Searoad Ferries group of companies is all about connecting people to unforgettable experiences. With over 200 dedicated staff, we're proud to operate award-winning transport, tourism, and hospitality services since 1987, including our iconic Queenscliff-Sorrento ferry route and a growing hospitality portfolio.

Our Sorrento Ferry Terminal is getting a major upgrade, and soon it will be home to new food outlets, bars, kiosks, and dining experiences. We're excited to bring a coastal Mediterranean flair to Sorrento with ONDA—our fresh new restaurant overlooking Port Phillip Bay—and we're looking for a talented Duty Manager to run front of house and serve up menu magic for locals and visitors.

This is a full-time Duty Manager (Hospitality) role with the Searoad Hospitality Group, based in Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula. As Duty Manager, you will play a key part in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our unique hospitality venues, ensuring exceptional customer service, and keeping the good vibes flowing.

What you'll be doing:

• Coordinating and supervising front-of-house staff to deliver outstanding service
• Handling customer enquiries, reservations and complaints with professionalism
• Monitoring stock levels, placing orders and managing inventory
• Overseeing the opening and closing procedures
• Assisting with the rostering and scheduling of staff
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations
• Supporting the management team in driving continuous improvement

About You: To thrive here, you'll need...

• Experience in a supervisory role in a hospitality setting
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving / decision-making abilities
• The ability to lead and motivate a team
• A passion for the hospitality industry and the drive to succeed
• Familiarity with liquor licensing, food safety, and other relevant regulations
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
