We're working with a Council west of Melbourne to recruit a Senior Designer (Landscape Architect or Urban Designer) for a 12-month contract, covering long service leave from June 2025 to June

You'll be joining a collaborative team responsible for delivering concept plans and early-stage design for a wide range of public realm and infrastructure projects – including streetscapes, bike paths, trails, and greening initiatives.

This is a great opportunity to shape community spaces and contribute to meaningful, people-focused design outcomes.

What you'll be doing:
  • Lead the design process from site analysis through to concept development and costing
  • Create high-quality visuals for stakeholder engagement and community consultation
  • Prepare design briefs, reports, and cost estimates
  • Support detailed documentation for tender and construction as required
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants
  • Provide input across a variety of capital works and open space projects
What we're looking for:
  • Qualification in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Civil Design or similar
  • Experience working on public realm or local government projects
  • Ability to produce strong design concepts and clear visual presentations
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of landscape construction, plant selection, and site supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with community engagement is highly regarded
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks concurrently
