About the team
The Finance and Planning team at TEQ supports the organisation's financial integrity through accurate processing, reporting, and strategic financial management. The team is collaborative and driven to implement improvements that enhance financial systems and services.
Purpose
You will coordinate and oversee the processing of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and corporate credit cards in a multi-currency environment. The role involves supervising team members and supporting financial system improvements.
Key Responsibilities include:
Financial Transaction Services
- Coordinate and oversee the AP/AR function and credit card processing
- Ensure vendor/debtor invoices are processed and paid accurately in multiple currencies
- Perform reconciliations and maintain ledger integrity
- Review new and existing supplier/customer accounts including conducting third-party verification
- Manage payment runs and support international office transactions
System Improvements
- Provide support to the Finance Services Leader to deliver systems improvements, including working closely with support partners
- Identify opportunities for system process improvement and automation within financial workflows
- Work closely with stakeholders with a user experience perspective, translate business needs into seamless system configurations
Customer Service and Advice
- Act as a finance system subject matter expert, staying updated on new features in Oracle NetSuite
- Maintain an understanding of TEQ's priorities and how the role can assist employees in meeting organisational objectives
- Work with external vendors, consultants, and system support teams to implement best practices and resolve system issues
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and guide the Finance Officer and Corporate Specialist
- Promote high performance and engagement.

For this role, we will consider your:
- Tertiary degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Strong understanding of finance processes (procure-to-pay, Accounts Payable and General Ledger).
- Experience working with and implementing process improvements initiatives within Financial Systems.
- Demonstrated ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders in a professional and proactive manner.
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft suite of applications, in particular Excel.
- Demonstrated success in providing consistent and exceptional customer service.
