Social Media Strategist
to join us on a freelance or contract basis for both new/emerging and established brands.
You'll be someone who understands both the craft
and
the strategy behind great social, helping shape how purpose-driven brands show up online.
What You'll Do
- Develop clear, platform-specific strategies that align with campaign and brand goals.
- Partner with creative and account teams to shape content calendars, campaign plans, and always-on activity.
- Lead integrated, multi-channel strategies (influencer, content, and organic social) that deliver measurable results — primarily across Meta and Instagram.
- Bonus points:
experience with TikTok, LinkedIn, X, or YouTube Shorts.
- Translate cultural, platform, and audience trends into actionable, highly unconventional creative ideas and content formats.
- Develop concepts, content themes, and pillars that guide creative teams to bring strategic objectives to life across owned and creator-led channels.
- Collaborate with the creative team to ensure messaging, targeting, and creative execution align with strategy.
- Report on performance, turning insights into actionable recommendations that drive results.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in an agency, in-house, or freelance social media role.
- Proven experience in developing organic social strategies, ideally with hands-on experience in Meta Business Suite.
- A passion for social-first content and staying ahead of trends and cultural shifts in the social landscape.
- A creative thinker with an unconventional approach to social — someone who isn't afraid to pitch bold ideas that push the needle.
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or related field.
- Meta Certified Media Buyer or Media Planner.
- Experience integrating product catalogues from e-commerce platforms into Meta.
- Experience developing go-to-market plans or working with emerging brands
- Experience with community management and moderation.
- Experience working with brands in travel, non-profit, education, or purpose-driven sectors (sustainability, humanitarian, etc.).
- A track record of award-winning or industry-recognised works.
